He chews so loud

I love my husband dearly, but he must be the loudest chewer I have ever met, and it makes me sick. He has says he "has thin checks" which is completely obsord. Honestly, I don't know what it iis but I find myself trying to engage him in conversation all through dinner, just so I don't have to hear the silence muffled by his chewing. He claims its better than chewing with his mouth open, but I'm not to sure about that either. I'm considering sending him to get his mouth wired shut to solve this problem, and many others !!
